Matt Kurtin, Innovative Learning Group’s senior director of technology and visual design, provides leadership for ILG’s programmers and graphic designers who make every learning solution more robust.

His deep understanding of technologies connects ILG’s project teams to creative, innovative ideas for truly interactive, engaging client learning experiences. Matt consistently applies the latest advances in digital capability, such as augmented and virtual reality, to practical application in learning.

Recognized throughout the industry for his technology leadership — and has been named a Learning! Champion Thought Leader by Elearning! magazine — Matt is in constant demand to share his knowledge. For more than 20 years, he has advised client organizations on their overall technology strategy for learning and performance improvement. Matt provides insight into leading best practices for use of mobile solutions, learning portals, and learning management systems. Matt is also proficient in Captivate, Articulate Studio, Articulate Storyline, Lectora, HTML, and JavaScript, and he has led the authoring of more than 1,000 e-learning courses.

Matt’s team supports the programming of courses that have been translated in more than 20 languages and provides integration services for courses deployed to numerous SCORM/AICC‑compliant learning management systems and many proprietary management systems. In a nutshell, Matt makes everything work seamlessly.

In 2021, Matt was recognized as one of Michigan’s Most Valuable Professionals by Corp! magazine.

Matt is a member of The Learning Guild and is a frequent speaker at this and other national and local professional associations. He has presented at the Detroit and Greater Cincinnati chapters of the Association for Talent Development (ATD), Realities360, the Chicago eLearning & Technology Showcase, FocusOn Learning, DevLearn, the Online Learning Conference, and the ATD-CIC Learning Summit.

Matt has a bachelor’s and master’s degree in electrical engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
