So, What's The Difference?

ARTICULATE RISE Rise is a web-based tool for creating interactive, responsive e-learning courses.

Skill Required: Instructional designer

Strongest Device Support: Computers, tablets, and phones are supported.

Responsive Design: Player controls (navigation controls) and content both adapt responsively to phone sizes.

Navigation: You scroll down a webpage.

Interactivity: Rise’s interactivity is limited to the choices available within it (you can insert individual Storyline slides as you would do in Rise, but they wouldn’t be responsive like other Rise elements).

Limitations: Rise doesn’t support syncing on-screen bullets and graphics with audio narration (you need to use embedded video as a workaround).

Summary: Rise has less interactivity and more support for phones.

ARTICULATE STORYLINE Storyline is a tool that allows instructional designers to create interactive e-learning courses.

Skill Required: Media developer

Strongest Device Support: Computers and tablets are supported.

Responsive Design: Only navigation controls adapt responsively to phone sizes; content just scales smaller.

Navigation: You move from slide to slide by clicking “Next.”

Interactivity: Storyline has robust, custom interactivity.

Summary: Storyline has more interactivity and less support for phones.
