While working on a larger project about shortened timelines and updated processes in a pharmaceutical setting, ILG identified a need during discussions with Takeda’s medical writing team, which is responsible for compiling information and editing submissions to medical regulatory bodies. Part of this work involves sharing the submission with internal subject matter experts for review.
Takeda was using job aids and in-person training materials and already had a superhero theme. A key challenge in sharing the materials was the number of people who needed training, as well as the time taken away from the submission management process to conduct the training.
ILG partnered with the medical writing team to transform the content into a standalone e-learning course, maintaining the superhero theme while introducing some humor in the scenarios and knowledge check questions. ILG focused heavily on the WIIFM (What’s In It For Me) for learners, emphasizing how following the processes and tips in the e-learning would save them time and frustration, and how focusing on their functional area superpowers would make them super reviewers.
