Christina Calderwood

Project Manager and Instructional Designer

“Training truly has the ability to change lives,” says Innovative Learning Group Project Manager and Instructional Designer Christina Calderwood. And Christina has been “changing lives” for 30 years.

She has experience in training and performance improvement, working from both the vendor side and the client side. Christina has consulted with clients in the automotive, business services, insurance, finance, retail, manufacturing, nonprofit, technology, and defense industries.

“I love to work directly with clients to solve their learning and performance challenges,” says Christina. “At the end of the day, it’s my learners who drive me, and it makes me feel good to know that I’ve helped someone do their job better and thereby improve my client’s business performance.”

Christina has extensive experience designing and developing custom training solutions across a wide range of topics, including artificial intelligence (AI), leadership, software development, quality, engineering, and sales. She recently completed an AI project for an automotive client, where she explored how AI could enhance the client’s internal learning and development processes. Christina then developed training materials and guidelines to help them integrate AI throughout their training product life cycle.  Additionally, she managed the curriculum development for a seven-month leadership excellence program for a non-profit organization and created performance support materials for a business services client’s new vendor management tool.

“I love to take all of the information a client wants and really dive-in and determine what learners actually need to be able to do their job,” she says. “Breaking that down and putting it back together again in a way that s smart and engaging for learners is so rewarding.”

Christina is a member of the Association for Talent Development (ATD) and ATD Detroit. She is currently serving a two-year term on ATD Detroit’s board of directors as the vice president of membership. She has also presented at the Central Ohio ATD Learning Technology and Design Day.

Christina has a master’s degree in education, majoring in instructional technology, from Wayne State University in Detroit and a bachelor’s degree in education from Central Michigan University in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan.
